Note #58: Eat Clean

In the name of Allah

I am always fond of having healthy meals. But being a malay, with typical malay food, i need a big effort to eat clean. Basically, being a muslim, clean eating is a nature. Malays in Malaysia are mostly muslim. But Malays traditional cooking is not really healthy, we have a lot of oily and 'fatty' foods. Most of them are very delicious. Like all those 'gulai' and 'kari' dishes, they are yummy, but contain a lot things we don't want to reside in our body.

Few days ago, i tried making a smoothie using strawberries, avocado, and apples, plus juice and a spoonful of Shaklee's ESP powder (a kind of supplement). Let me show the pictures.

Avocado (only half)

the mixture

add milk

XSEDAP! hahaha

The first 3 steps looks very promising. But at the end, it taste no good. So heavy and almost tasteless. I know the culprit, must be avocado n the ESP powder. I don like the taste. Manage to gulp it down during sahur(first meal before dawn) and after berbuka (break fasting).

This the second time i use my shake and take to make smoothie. I'm really hopeless at making tasty smoothie, so i decided to just take fruits as it is. I shouldn't blend it, instead just use my natural food processor to chew the fruits.

I am considering to have Broccoli with soy sauce as dinner. The possibility for that to happen is if i am living alone. As long as i'm with my family, i will be very tempted with the delicious malay foods we have everyday.

*Future plan: Brokoli cicah kicap 5hari seminggu.
