In the name of Allah The Most of everything.
It's my 40th entry since i started NEET life. Well, right now i am not a Neet, just using the name. Let give a trivia about number 40. Only one, don't expect more.haha bcs i only have one.
"SMART Tunnel only solved 40% of flood problem in Kuala Lumpur".
There's a talk about eco-engineering on Klang R1iver last Saturday. I am lucky and able to attend this talk at Pusat Sains Negara. The presenter is Professor Roslan Hassan. I haven't check on his profile to talk about him. Seems like he's one of the lecturer in UiTM.
Briefly, he talk about the ecological approach done on few sites of Klang river to control and remove pollutions. One of the approach is, they plant grass on the slopes on river banks. In KL, we can the the slope of river been covered by concrete right, but now, the concrete is covered by plants. Why? Because plants such as grass can be a natural filter to filter out pollutants from the river. Another thins is, if the plant is on non-concrete slope, it'll prevent erosion of the slope.
Then the professor showed us the picture of a place where they plant grass over the slope. Then he showed us a group of cows. He said, "this is our auditors, to check whether the slope is strong enough or not.." Everyone cracked out with his joke. But it's true, the cows can showed us if the slope is strong.
Other than that, he showed us few water treatment plant, and some are still at the proposed stage. There's one small river in the area, people use fo fishing. They actually caught some, but the size is small. Apparently the fish are on their way coming back to the once-polluted-river. That really put me at ease, even with small improvement, i really feel happy.
Other than that, Professor Roslan had proposed a plan for a complete solution on flood problem in KL. That costs hella expensive. I can't recall the figure, but of course, millions of MYR. Well, i do hope he'll succeed, and i do hope more people to be more aware of our environment. We all know that treatment costs more thn prevention.
They'll be another talk session. Next one will be on forensics. If there's anyone happen to read this entry and interested to attend the talk in April, u can leave me your email address so that i can foward you the details. I'm happy to spread the word as soon as i got it.
