Note #50: Judge The Book by Its Cover..

It is so common. People who sell book will have their illustrator create a cover as interesting as possible so that it can catch buyer's attention. But yeah, it's more to attract, rather than to be judge. Good books can have a good cover, bad books can have bad cover, good books can also have awful cover, and bad books can have pretty cover. We want to avoid the latter as much as we could. 

Sorry for the weird intro. I was upset, angry. But not now, i am writing here reminiscing what happened this evening. At Dunkin' Donuts, i was about to order my lemon filled donuts as usual. There are quite a number of customers which i found unusual. The worker lady asked me to queue and pay at the counter first. I saw 2 guys there, n decide to stand behind the second guy. He give way to me as if he's not queuing. I stepped ahead. Then the cashier lady called for someone to collect his/her orders n some random people suddenly popped up to claimed it. I began to confused. How are things work here? Then this one specky lady, seems a bit senior than me stand on the other side of the guy in front of me. She's tried to cut the queue, while someone is already behind me. 

Things become a bit hay-wired a bit since they served us weirdly. The specky-lady rushh to order once the guy in front of us done with his. But the ladies in charge there seems to be still busy with previous customer. I tried my luck to order too since there are 2 ladies in charge there. At the same time, i am annoyed with the specky-lady bcs she just denied my right to be served first. She's not even queuing! When i tell them what i want, the cashier lady said, " tunggu ye, ikut turn..". I was annoyed, i said, " Sepatutnya saya dulu.." I faked my smile. I am sure the cashier lady heard me. Because i saw her surprised expression. But since she already took the order from the specky-lady, she can't cancelled it. Instead, she quickly told her colleague to served mine. Once she done with the specky-lady's one, she said, sorry to me. 

What does this have to do with books and its covers? Well, the issue here is specky-lady. Bcs i am annoyed with her for the whole incident. She look very nice, give me a professional look, seems to be well educated person. neat, and she speaks, well, just as common working people in KL lah. Mixed language. But the way she behave, ignore the queue, it dropped all the good impressions i have on her. So yeah.. i am disappointed as well as with annoying.

Many times i encountered people with such professional image, but the attitude in public places, especially when commuting public transport is horrible. I always tell myself, " Hmmph, pakai baju H&M pun perangai cenggini je..malu H&M jual paju tu kat korang tau..(It's such a shame people like this, even H&M will be ashamed to have people with bad attitude as their customer)" I don't know many brands actually, and i believe H&M is not a luxury outlet that sell luxury products. Sorry for my limited knowledge on trends and fashion, that's kinda the only thing popped up in my head. I would keep blabbing on these if i don't stop now. I should make another rant entry for my annoyance toward people who commuting the public transport. Until then.

Biasa lah tu. Orang jual buku pun mau suruh illustrator depa reka cover buku supaya cantik dan menarik. Barula orang tengok tertarik. Tapi sebenarnya, cantik luaran ni guna dia untuk memikat ja. 

Tadi saya marah. Marah saya bukan jenis meledak teriak2 kat orang gitu. Marah saya pendam, pendam saya x berbara. Pendam saya jadi abu. Alhamdulillah. Dari satu segi sifat saya ni satu kelebihan, dari satu segi, sifat saya mungkin kelemahan. Tak tau mana satu yang lebih. 

Saya pergi ke Dunkin' Donuts untuk beli donat lemon saya. Kebetulan ramai orang. Depa suruh saya beratur pi bayar dulu. Saya pun menonong lah pegi ke kaunter. Ada dua orang lelaki kat depan, sorang nya beri laluan sebab dia dah pesan makanan, tengah tunggu je. Pastu ade la hakak sorang ni, dia pegi sebelah kanan belakang mamat yg paling depan tu, macam nak berebut untuk pesan makanan dengan saya (saya kat belaknag belah kiri). Saya rasa menyampah. Pastu bila mamat kat depan ni siap, puak2 staf n cashier ni pulak tgh serabut nak sediakan makanan yg dah dipesan org2 sebelum kami. Hakak kat sebelah ni cecepat bagitau si cashier tu dia nak ape. Saya yang blur2 ayam dengan keadaan yang xteratur pun mencuba nasib sbb pada hakikatnya, hak memesan makanan saya punya dulu sebab hakak tu potong barisan. 

Saya cakap la, "donat lemon dua..".Tu je yang saya nak order ringkas. Skali budak cashier cakap, "tunggu ye, ikut turn.." Saya apa lagi, mmg turn saya kan, sensitip di situ, maka sy ckp la, " Oh patutnya memang saya dulu pun.." diikuti senyum tipu. Cashier tu cam terkejut skit, hakak yang potong barisan pun cam ade reaksi jgk. Tp buat tatau. Saya mengambil keputusan untuk senyap dan layan perasaan marah sorang2. Cashier tu cecepat suruh kawan dia amekkan pesanan saya, pastu dia minta maaf. Bila dah bayar saya senyapkan je. Xdelah nak marah sgt dah ngan dak cashier tu.

Ape kaitan kulit buku dengan kisah ni ye? Nak citer nye pasal hakak yang potong barisan tu. Imej bukan main profesional lah, pakaian kemas, muka terpelajar, cara cakap, alah, biasa2 gaya kebanyakan orang2 keje opis kat KL ni, campur2 rojak2. Sinis disengajakan* . Walaupun luaran macam bagus, sekali dia buat perangai potong barisan tu, memang terus hilang benda2 yang saya kata tadi. X kira la betul ke x semua andaian pertama kali saya tengok dia tu, semuanya xguna dah sebab kelakuan yang tah ape2 tu. Potong barisan x baik. Kecewa. 

Malas nak tulis pasal H&M. haha.
